Chief Technical Advisor – Propulsion Systems

Scope of Work

As the Chief Technical Advisor for Propulsion Systems, you will be responsible for guiding the strategic development of cutting-edge propulsion technologies across our fighter jet and cryogenic launch vehicle engine programs. You will provide deep technical insight, mentor emerging talent, and help shape the roadmap for indigenous propulsion innovation at global standards.

Nature of Work

• Advise on system-level architecture for low-bypass turbofans and cryogenic rocket engines
• Review design strategies and technical documents for compressors, turbines, and combustors
• Guide material selection and thermal/stress analysis methodologies
• Participate in periodic design reviews and technical audits of core subsystems
• Support testbed commissioning, safety protocols, and validation frameworks
• Help define indigenous FADEC development, sensor integration, and digital twin frameworks
• Mentor senior engineers and help develop leadership pipeline in propulsion R&D

Job Requirements

• Ph.D. or Master’s in Aerospace/Mechanical/Propulsion Engineering or equivalent
• 20+ years of experience in turbomachinery, jet propulsion, or cryogenic engine development
• Past leadership roles in organizations like DRDO, HAL, ISRO, GTRE, Rolls-Royce, or equivalent
• Thorough understanding of engine performance, design trades, and mission-based constraints
• Experience with integrated product teams and cross-disciplinary R&D programs
• Published work or patents in jet engine/cold flow or hot testing/cryogenic systems is a plus
• Familiarity with MIL-STD design practices and aerospace qualification procedures

• Senior Indian scientists, advisors, or experts (retired or active) with relevant experience
• Open to global Indian-origin experts willing to contribute to Indian defence aerospace
• Consultants open to long-term association in an advisory capacity
