IP & Legal Advisor – Aerospace (Combat Jet & Cryogenic Engines)

Location: Pune, India (Hybrid/Consultant Basis Available)

Scope of Work

We are seeking a seasoned legal and intellectual property (IP) advisor to help define and safeguard critical aerospace technologies developed in our Combat Jet Engine and Cryogenic Propulsion Divisions. The advisor will work closely with engineers, program managers, and external stakeholders to manage IP portfolios, structure strategic collaborations, and ensure compliance with national and international defense IP frameworks.

Nature of Work

  • Drafting and reviewing patents, technology licensing agreements, NDAs, and MoUs
  • Advising on IP strategy, IP risk mitigation, and technology transfer protocols
  • Handling contracts and regulatory compliance related to dual-use and export-controlled technologies (e.g., MTCR, ITAR-like clauses)
  • Representing the company in IP audits, litigations, and with regulatory authorities
  • Protecting trade secrets and ensuring clean IP chains of ownership across internal and partnered R&D efforts
  • Guiding IP filings in India and globally (WIPO, USPTO, EPO, etc.)

Job Requirements

  • LL.B. or LL.M. with specialization in Intellectual Property or Technology Law
  • 5+ years of experience in legal advisory or IP strategy in aerospace/defense or deep-tech sectors
  • Understanding of Indian patent law, DPEPP 2020 guidelines, and Aatmanirbhar Bharat legal frameworks
  • Working knowledge of IP-related international treaties (TRIPS, Hague, Madrid, etc.)
  • Experience interfacing with DRDO, MoD, ISRO, or similar defense/public sector organizations is preferred
  • Strong negotiation, contract management, and documentation skills

Eligibility

  • Indian citizens with legal work authorization
  • Prior work in IP for aerospace, propulsion systems, or critical technology domains preferred
  • Willingness to collaborate in a hybrid advisory or consultancy capacity
