Thermal Systems Advisor – Jet & Cryogenic Engines
Location: Pune, India (Advisory/Consulting Basis – Remote/Hybrid Options Available)
Scope of Work
We are seeking a veteran thermal systems expert to advise on the development and optimization of thermal management architectures for both advanced combat jet engines and cryogenic propulsion systems. Your insights will directly influence component durability, performance, and safety across extreme aerospace environments. This is a high-impact advisory role offering flexibility and collaboration with cross-disciplinary engineering teams.
Nature of Work
- Review and advise on integrated thermal management strategies for turbomachinery and cryogenic engines
- Consult on active/passive cooling systems for turbine hot sections and regeneratively cooled cryogenic chambers
- Participate in failure mode analysis, material degradation due to heat cycles, and insulation strategies
- Evaluate heat exchanger configurations, precoolers, and combustor thermal loading
- Guide thermal instrumentation planning for testbeds and validation rigs
- Review CFD, FEA, and thermal transient simulation results and recommend corrective actions
- Contribute to design reviews, compliance checks, and government proposal assessments
Job Requirements
- Ph.D. or M.Tech in Thermal Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Cryogenics, or related field
- Minimum 15 years of experience in thermal systems, preferably in defense or aerospace engine programs
- Expertise in turbine blade cooling, regenerative cooling for cryo-engines, and heat transfer simulation tools
- Strong command over thermal barrier coatings, insulation materials, and structural-thermal interaction
- Experience working with organizations like GTRE, ISRO, DRDO, or equivalent international aerospace entities is highly desirable
- Clear ability to communicate technical guidance to multi-disciplinary teams and leadership

- Indian nationals or OCI holders with proven expertise in aerospace thermal systems
- Retired experts, professors, or senior scientists with relevant experience are welcome
- Must be able to commit to scheduled reviews and strategic consultations (avg. 8–12 hrs/month)
