Senior Advisor – Thermodynamics & Heat Transfer (Jet & Cryogenic Engines)
Location: Pune, India / Remote Advisory (India-based candidates preferred)
Scope of Work
We are seeking an accomplished senior expert to provide guidance on advanced thermodynamic cycle analysis, heat transfer phenomena, and propulsion system thermal management strategies. The advisor will support our combat jet engine and cryogenic propulsion teams in design validation, architecture optimization, and R&D roadmap alignment to global performance standards.
Nature of Work
- Advise on Brayton cycle optimizations for supersonic propulsion systems
- Contribute to cooling architecture design for turbine blades and hot-section components
- Mentor thermal engineers in high-fidelity thermal-fluid simulations
- Evaluate regenerative cooling loops in cryogenic rocket engines
- Review and improve heat exchanger designs and thermal interfaces
- Support thermal budgeting and heat shielding strategies for flight systems
- Participate in peer reviews and design audits across thermal disciplines
Job Requirements
- Ph.D. or M.Tech in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Thermal Engineering with focus on thermodynamics and heat transfer
- 20+ years of experience in aerospace propulsion (military or cryogenic systems preferred)
- Hands-on experience with simulation tools like ANSYS Fluent, STAR-CCM+, or COMSOL
- Understanding of transient thermal analysis, conjugate heat transfer, and radiative cooling models
- Familiarity with MIL standards, test protocols, and thermal instrumentation strategies
- Proven track record of contributions to advanced R&D or flight-certified engine programs
Eligibility
- Indian nationals or OCI card holders eligible for strategic defense advisory roles
- Retired or semi-retired professionals from DRDO labs, GTRE, ISRO, or aerospace OEMs are encouraged to apply
- Available for 5–10 hours/week of technical consultation and virtual design reviews
