Chief CAD Architect – Combat Jet & Cryogenic Engines
Location: Pune, India (Hybrid Available)
Scope of Work
As the Chief CAD Architect, you will lead the end-to-end digital design framework for our advanced propulsion systems. You’ll spearhead CAD-driven collaboration across multidisciplinary teams for fighter-class turbofan engines and cryogenic propulsion systems. Your responsibilities include managing model-based design environments, enforcing CAD governance, and ensuring design-manufacturing integration.
Nature of Work
- Define CAD methodologies for full engine assemblies and modules
- Establish best practices for parametric modeling, version control, and design reviews
- Integrate structural, thermal, and fluid boundary conditions into CAD assemblies
- Coordinate with design leads for combustors, nozzles, blades, shafts, and casing
- Set up and maintain design libraries and reusable components
- Collaborate with manufacturing engineers for DFM and additive production feasibility
- Manage export control compliance, IP, and configuration management standards
- Mentor junior designers and enforce design standards across the organization
Job Requirements
- B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Design Engineering
- 8+ years of CAD experience in turbomachinery, aerospace, or cryogenic propulsion
- Expertise in Siemens NX (preferred), CATIA V5, or PTC Creo
- Proficiency in GD&T, tolerance stack-up, and fit analysis
- Experience managing large, multi-disciplinary CAD assemblies
- Knowledge of product lifecycle management (PLM) systems (Teamcenter, Windchill)
- Understanding of structural integrity, flow paths, and heat transfer principles
- Experience with BOM generation, drawing automation, and digital thread concepts
