Blade Designer – Jet & Cryogenic Engines
Location: Pune, India (Hybrid Available)
Scope of Work
We are looking for a highly skilled Blade Designer to contribute to the aerodynamic and structural design of turbomachinery blades used in high-performance combat jet engines and cryogenic rocket engines. Your primary responsibility will be to design compressor and turbine blades that achieve maximum efficiency, mechanical robustness, and manufacturability within mission-specific constraints.
Nature of Work
- 3D blade profile creation using CAD tools (Siemens NX, CATIA V5, etc.)
- Design of single and multi-stage axial flow blades for compressors and turbines
- Aerodynamic profiling using CFD tools (ANSYS CFX, Fluent)
- Thermal and stress analysis (steady-state and transient)
- Involvement in additive manufacturing strategies for blade prototyping
- Interface with materials engineers, CFD analysts, and thermal experts
- Optimization of blade shapes using genetic algorithms or machine learning (optional)
Job Requirements
- B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Turbomachinery Engineering
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in blade design for jet engines, steam turbines, or cryogenic pumps (freshers with research experience may also apply)
- Proficiency in one or more CAD tools: NX, CATIA, SolidWorks
- Experience with CFD tools like ANSYS, NUMECA, or OpenFOAM
- Knowledge of fatigue, creep, and high-temperature material behavior in turbine environments
- Familiarity with blade cooling technologies and flow path optimization
- Good understanding of blade manufacturing techniques (casting, forging, machining, or 3D printing)
- Excellent documentation and communication skills
Eligibility
- Indian nationals or those eligible to work in India
- Passion for aerospace innovation and indigenous development
- Research scholars with published work in turbomachinery design are encouraged to apply
