Structural FEA Engineer – Combat Jet & Cryogenic Engines
Location: Pune, India (On-site or Hybrid)
Scope of Work
- Perform advanced Finite Element Analysis (FEA) on jet engine and cryogenic components.
- Evaluate structural behavior under dynamic, thermal, fatigue, and creep loading conditions.
- Optimize critical structures such as nozzles, turbines, compressors, and cryo-tanks.
- Integrate models with aerothermal, combustion, and material teams for holistic analysis.
- Support test correlation using data from static, modal, or hot-fire tests.
Nature of Work
- Full-time role based at our R&D center or propulsion testing facility.
- Use of FEA tools like ABAQUS, ANSYS, NASTRAN, or HyperMesh.
- Close collaboration with design, safety, and manufacturing teams.
- Exposure to high-performance computing (HPC) platforms for simulation.
- Active participation in reviews, DFMEA, and structural certification activities.
Job Requirements
- B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in aerospace or propulsion-related FEA work.
- Proficient in nonlinear analysis, modal/transient simulations, and stress predictions.
- Understanding of metallic and composite material behavior under extreme conditions.
- Experience with CAD tools such as CATIA, SolidWorks, or NX.
- Strong documentation and engineering presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with combat jet engine or cryogenic stage structural design.
- Knowledge of fatigue/fracture mechanics, vibration analysis, and safety margins.
- Familiarity with AS9100, MIL-STD-1530, or space/defense-grade structural standards.
