Thermal Analyst – Combat Jet & Cryogenic Engines

Location: Pune, India (Hybrid Available)

Scope of Work

We are seeking a Thermal Analyst to drive high-fidelity thermal modeling and simulation of advanced propulsion systems including single-spool turbofan engines for fighter jets and cryogenic upper stage rocket engines. The candidate will work with a multidisciplinary team to assess thermal margins, define cooling strategies, and validate system-level thermal integrity under extreme operating conditions.

Nature of Work

  • Conduct transient and steady-state thermal analysis of components and assemblies
  • Model heat transfer mechanisms including conduction, convection, and radiation
  • Develop cooling strategies for turbines, combustors, and avionics modules
  • Perform cryogenic thermal analysis for liquid hydrogen/oxygen components
  • Interface with CFD, structural, and materials engineers for coupled simulations
  • Support thermal instrumentation planning for testbeds and flight systems
  • Contribute to thermal design reviews and margin assessment reports
  • Simulate thermal soakback during shut-down or re-entry (for space systems)

Job Requirements

  • B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Thermal Engineering, Aerospace, Mechanical, or similar domain
  • 3+ years of experience in thermal analysis for propulsion or aerospace systems
  • Hands-on experience with tools like ANSYS Thermal, Siemens Simcenter, or COMSOL
  • Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, or C++ for custom thermal modeling
  • Understanding of high-temperature materials and thermal barrier coatings
  • Familiarity with cryogenic system thermal behavior and insulation modeling
  • Experience in test data correlation and sensor integration for thermal validation
  • Good documentation and team collaboration skills

Eligibility

  • Indian nationals or OCI card holders eligible to work in India
  • Strong motivation to contribute to indigenous aerospace innovation
  • Candidates with published research in thermal sciences or cryogenics preferred
