Instrumentation Engineer – Combat Jet & Cryogenic Engines
Location: Pune, India (Hybrid / Lab-Based)
Scope of Work
We are seeking an experienced Instrumentation Engineer to support the development and qualification of advanced combat jet engines and cryogenic propulsion systems. This role involves the full lifecycle of instrumentation systems—from sensor selection and integration to data acquisition, calibration, and diagnostics—under extreme thermal and mechanical conditions.
Nature of Work
- Design and deployment of high-temperature sensors (thermocouples, RTDs, strain gauges, pressure transducers)
- Integration of instrumentation in engine components for static and dynamic testing
- Development of DAQ systems with real-time monitoring and signal conditioning (NI, dSPACE, LabVIEW)
- Calibration and validation of sensor data under simulated operating conditions
- Instrumentation planning for engine ground tests, altitude test facilities, and cryogenic test rigs
- Data analysis, fault detection, and instrumentation layout documentation
- Compliance with military and aerospace instrumentation standards (MIL-STD, DO-160, etc.)
Job Requirements
- B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Instrumentation, Electronics, Aerospace, or Mechatronics Engineering
- 3+ years of experience in high-performance aerospace or propulsion system instrumentation
- Hands-on experience with DAQ hardware and signal processing tools
- Strong knowledge of sensor technologies for extreme environments
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and integrate instrumentation without compromising system integrity
- Familiarity with test bench setups, including cryogenic and supersonic test facilities
- Working knowledge of EMI/EMC compliance and rugged electronics packaging
- Proficiency in LabVIEW, MATLAB, or Python for sensor calibration and data analysis
