Sensor Specialist – Jet & Cryogenic Engines

Location: Pune, India (Hybrid Work Model)

Scope of Work

We are seeking a Sensor Specialist to lead the design, selection, integration, and validation of sensors used in high-performance turbomachinery for both combat jet engines and cryogenic rocket engines. You will be working on developing sensor networks that provide critical real-time data for propulsion health, performance, and safety across extreme environments.

Nature of Work

  • Selection of temperature, pressure, vibration, strain, flow, and speed sensors for harsh engine environments
  • Design and validation of sensor harnessing and mounting in high-temperature, cryogenic, and high-vibration conditions
  • Calibration and testing using engine ground testbeds and laboratory rigs
  • Integration of sensors with FADEC and data acquisition systems
  • Signal conditioning, EMI/EMC testing, and redundancy strategies for safety-critical systems
  • Support for digital twin models by providing validated sensor data streams
  • Close collaboration with control engineers, thermal analysts, and test teams

Job Requirements

  • B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Instrumentation, Electronics, Aerospace, or Mechatronics Engineering
  • 2+ years of experience in sensor integration for aerospace or industrial gas turbines, or cryogenic propulsion systems (Fresh graduates with exceptional research can apply)
  • Understanding of sensor physics, drift mechanisms, and failure modes under thermal and vibratory stress
  • Hands-on experience with DAQ systems (NI, dSPACE, or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of communication protocols: CAN, SPI, I2C, ARINC 429 (preferred)
  • Experience in sensor calibration methods and uncertainty analysis
  • Familiarity with aerospace/military qualification standards (MIL-STD-810, DO-160)
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills

Eligibility

  • Indian nationals or persons eligible to work in India
  • Passion for indigenous aerospace and propulsion development
  • Research background or published work in sensor instrumentation is desirable
