Certification Officer – Legal & Regulatory Affairs

Location: Bengaluru / Pune, India (Hybrid Available)

Scope of Work

We are seeking a meticulous and regulatory-savvy Certification Officer to lead our legal and compliance documentation for aerospace engine programs. The role focuses on certification pathways for advanced combat jet engines and cryogenic propulsion systems under Indian and international defense and space regulations.

Nature of Work

  • Coordinate with internal engineering teams to align product development with certification milestones
  • Prepare, review, and submit documentation for certification with DRDO, DGCA, CEMILAC, ISRO, and international agencies (FAA, EASA optional)
  • Work on airworthiness compliance, quality standards, and regulatory filings
  • Liaison with legal advisors and compliance officers to ensure export control, intellectual property, and dual-use regulation adherence
  • Track changes in government and international defense certification policies
  • Assist in drafting internal policies for certification, audit trails, and technical documentation management
  • Participate in government audits, inspections, and validation trials

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law, Aerospace Regulation, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in legal or regulatory roles within aerospace, defense, or high-tech sectors
  • Working knowledge of aerospace certification frameworks (CEMILAC, DGCA, DRDO, etc.)
  • Understanding of technology transfer policies, IP law, and export control (MTCR, ITAR, SCOMET)
  • Experience in documentation and communication with regulatory authorities
  • Ability to interpret and draft regulatory documents, MoUs, and licensing agreements
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and documentation skills

Eligibility

  • Indian nationals or OCI candidates eligible to work in India
  • Preference to those with defense sector or space agency certification experience
  • Professionals with background in both legal and engineering documentation are encouraged
