Environmental Engineer – Legal Compliance & Sustainability

Scope of Work

We are seeking an Environmental Engineer to support legal compliance, regulatory liaison, and sustainability initiatives across our advanced propulsion programs. This role is critical for ensuring environmental safety in the design, testing, and operation of high-performance combat jet engines and cryogenic propulsion systems. You will work at the intersection of engineering, legal policy, and environmental stewardship, driving our commitment to eco-conscious aerospace development.

Nature of Work

• Conducting Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) for engine testbeds and production sites
• Ensuring compliance with environmental regulations (MoEF, CPCB, and international standards)
• Creating and maintaining documentation for ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management Systems
• Collaborating with legal and design teams to assess hazardous emissions, noise levels, and waste disposal
• Developing mitigation strategies for thermal, acoustic, and chemical pollution
• Advising on green manufacturing practices and sustainable material selection
• Representing the company in regulatory audits and government liaison activities

Job Requirements

• B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field
• 3+ years of experience in environmental regulation and sustainability (preferably in aerospace, defense, or heavy industries)
• Familiarity with Indian and international environmental regulations and audits
• Understanding of engine testing and its environmental impact
• Ability to work with legal teams to ensure full statutory compliance
• Experience in lifecycle analysis, waste management, and pollution control technologies
• Proficient in tools like AutoCAD, GIS, or LCA software (optional)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
