Legal Lead – Combat Jet & Cryogenic Engines Division

Scope of Work

We are seeking an experienced Legal Lead to oversee all legal, regulatory, and compliance matters for our indigenous aerospace propulsion programs. You will work at the intersection of national security, IP, international collaboration, and export compliance to ensure full legal coverage of our jet and cryogenic engine development operations.

Nature of Work

• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating strategic partnership agreements, NDAs, licensing contracts, and MoUs
• Ensuring compliance with Indian defense procurement policies (DPP/DAP), DPEPP 2020, and export control regulations
• Handling intellectual property strategy, patents, and trade secrets related to aerospace technology
• Collaborating with governmental agencies (DRDO, IN-SPACe, ISRO, MoD) for regulatory clearance
• Managing legal risk assessments for international vendor and OEM collaborations
• Providing legal counsel for technology transfer, dual-use items, and proprietary design frameworks
• Representing the company in arbitration or legal disputes, if any

Job Requirements

• LL.B or LL.M from a reputed institution with specialization in Corporate, IP, or Technology Law
• 7+ years of experience in aerospace, defense, high-tech, or manufacturing sectors
• Strong knowledge of defense contracts, aerospace licensing, and government compliance mechanisms
• Experience with Indian and international IP laws and export control frameworks (ITAR, MTCR, SCOMET)
• Excellent negotiation, drafting, and documentation skills
• Strong interpersonal and leadership qualities to interface with engineering and executive teams

Eligibility

• Indian citizens or OCI holders with eligibility to work in India
• Security clearance as required by government for sensitive defense projects (preferred)
• Previous experience handling defense PSUs or private aerospace contracts is highly valued
