Chief Engineer – Combat Jet & Cryogenic Engines Division

Location: Pune, India (Onsite with travel to test facilities and OEM partners)

Scope of Work

The Chief Engineer will be responsible for leading the end-to-end design, validation, and integration of next-generation combat jet and cryogenic propulsion systems. You will oversee multidisciplinary teams, interface with the government and private stakeholders, and ensure alignment with military standards and mission objectives. Your role will shape India’s future in indigenous aerospace propulsion.

Nature of Work

  • Lead architecture definition of turbofan and cryogenic engines for military and space applications
  • Ensure integration of core modules, afterburner/nozzle systems, and FADEC with airframes and testbeds
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams covering aerodynamics, thermodynamics, materials, controls, and manufacturing
  • Oversee system-level simulation using digital twin tools and real-time diagnostics platforms
  • Mentor technical leads, review design gates, and manage TRL escalations
  • Act as the technical interface with national R&D labs (GTRE, ISRO), armed forces, and strategic partners
  • Ensure adherence to AS9100, MIL-STD, and flight certification requirements

Job Requirements

  • B.E./B.Tech and M.E./M.Tech or PhD in Aerospace, Mechanical, Propulsion, or related fields
  • 10+ years of experience in propulsion systems, with at least 4 years in a leadership/Chief Engineer role
  • Hands-on experience in combat engine development, cryogenic turbo-pump systems, or liquid propulsion
  • Familiarity with GE, Klimov, or Safran-based architecture is a plus
  • Strong understanding of FADEC integration, thrust vectoring, and survivability requirements
  • Proficiency in simulation tools like ANSYS, NPSS, MATLAB/Simulink, and CAD platforms
  • Exceptional decision-making, documentation, and team leadership abilities
