Lead Architect – Combat Jet & Cryogenic Engines

Scope of Work

As the Lead Architect, you will be responsible for end-to-end architecture definition, design integration, and system-level strategy for both advanced combat jet engines and cryogenic propulsion systems. You will work closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure technical excellence, scalability, manufacturability, and mission alignment of all sub-systems under your purview.

Nature of Work

• Lead system architecture for indigenous turbofan and cryogenic engine programs
• Drive requirements definition and design specifications in collaboration with stakeholders
• Oversee subsystem integration across combustion, compressors, turbines, cooling, and nozzle modules
• Coordinate with FADEC, sensor, material, and structural teams to ensure cohesive development
• Engage in program reviews, validation cycles, and certification planning per military/ISRO standards
• Mentor cross-functional teams of engineers and researchers across propulsion divisions
• Collaborate with manufacturing leads to optimize design for prototyping and production readiness

Job Requirements

• B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech/Ph.D. in Aerospace, Mechanical, Propulsion, or Systems Engineering
• 10+ years of experience in propulsion system development (military or space-grade engines)
• Proven track record in engine architecture, program leadership, and system integration
• Sound knowledge of gas turbine thermodynamics, cryogenic systems, combustion, and materials
• Hands-on experience with simulation tools like NPSS, ANSYS, MATLAB/Simulink, or GT-Power
• Understanding of testing infrastructure, qualification strategy, and project scheduling
• Strong technical documentation, team leadership, and stakeholder management skills

Eligibility

• Indian nationals or PIOs with eligibility to work in India
• Previous experience in DRDO/ISRO/private aerospace organizations preferred
• Visionary mindset with a passion for self-reliant propulsion technologies
• Willingness to relocate to Pune or travel for program reviews/test campaigns
