Metal Additive Manufacturing Machine Operator – Combat Jet & Cryogenic Engines
Location: Pune, India (On-Site)
Scope of Work
We are seeking a skilled Metal Additive Manufacturing (AM) Operator to join our advanced manufacturing cell for combat jet engine and cryogenic propulsion system components. This role requires proficiency in operating DMLS/EBM machines, managing build quality, and handling critical post-processing and inspection of 3D-printed aerospace components.
Nature of Work
- Setup, calibration, and operation of metal additive manufacturing machines (DMLS, EBM, SLM)
- Handling aerospace-grade materials like Inconel, Titanium alloys, Mar-M, and Aluminum alloys
- Reading and executing part builds from STL and CAD files
- Monitoring print processes and troubleshooting in real-time
- Coordinating with design and quality teams to ensure geometric and metallurgical conformity
- Performing heat treatments and post-processing operations like support removal, surface finishing, and HIP
- Maintaining machine logs, powder handling protocols, and calibration records
Job Requirements
- Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Metallurgy, or Manufacturing Engineering
- 2+ years of hands-on experience operating metal 3D printing machines (SLM Solutions, EOS, Arcam, etc.)
- Understanding of additive manufacturing file formats, build parameters, and layer-by-layer manufacturing principles
- Basic knowledge of metallurgical quality control, NDT methods, and post-processing techniques
- Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing standards and quality documentation
- Comfortable working in cleanroom or controlled manufacturing environments
- Strong attention to detail, quality consciousness, and safety compliance
Eligibility
- Indian nationals with the legal right to work in India
- Prior experience in aerospace or defense manufacturing will be preferred
- Open to fresh graduates from skill development programs in additive manufacturing
- Commitment to indigenous aerospace development under Aatmanirbhar Bharat
