Metal Additive Manufacturing Technician – Jet & Cryogenic Engines
Location: Pune, India (On-site preferred)
Scope of Work
We are looking for a hands-on Metal Additive Manufacturing Technician to support the rapid prototyping and production of critical components for our indigenous fighter-class jet engines and high-thrust cryogenic rocket engines. This role involves working at the intersection of CAD design, 3D printing, and metallurgical testing to bring digital designs into physical reality.
Nature of Work
- Prepare and optimize 3D CAD models for metal additive manufacturing (SLM, EBM, DED)
- Operate and maintain metal 3D printers (EOS, SLM Solutions, Renishaw, or equivalent)
- Support build planning, powder handling, post-processing, and part inspection
- Perform in-process monitoring and parameter tuning for dimensional and material accuracy
- Collaborate with design engineers to iterate geometries for AM feasibility
- Participate in mechanical testing and non-destructive evaluation of printed parts
- Document build reports, deviations, and quality control logs
Job Requirements
- Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Metallurgical Engineering
- 2+ years of experience in metal additive manufacturing (SLM, EBM, DED, etc.)
- Experience with CAD tools (SolidWorks, NX, or Fusion 360)
- Basic understanding of metallurgy and thermal behavior of superalloys (IN718, Ti6Al4V, etc.)
- Familiarity with additive slicing software (Materialise Magics, Siemens AM Build Processor, etc.)
- Knowledge of powder safety protocols, AM machine calibration, and part finishing techniques
- Hands-on experience with support removal, stress relief, HIP, and surface finishing preferred
- Attention to detail and documentation discipline
