Composite Technician – Combat Jet & Cryogenic Engines
Location: Pune, India (On-Site with Hybrid Flexibility for Design Teams)
Scope of Work
As a Composite Technician, you will be responsible for supporting the design, prototyping, and manufacturing of advanced carbon fiber and ceramic matrix composite parts for high-performance combat jet engines and cryogenic propulsion systems. Your role will span from CAD-based layup planning to hands-on laminate fabrication, curing, trimming, and quality assurance. You’ll collaborate closely with design engineers and material scientists in building next-generation propulsion components with extreme thermal, structural, and weight performance.
Nature of Work
- Preparation and layup of carbon fiber, aramid, and ceramic fiber laminates using dry and pre-preg methods
- Use of CAD/CAM software (SolidWorks, NX) to interpret component drawings and ply schedules
- Vacuum bagging, autoclave operation, and out-of-autoclave (OOA) composite processing
- Hand-finishing, trimming, drilling, bonding, and assembly of composite parts
- Participation in prototype mold creation, tool prep, and demolding operations
- Inspection of cured parts via visual, ultrasonic, and C-scan techniques
- Documentation of work processes, inspection results, and repair operations
Job Requirements
- Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Manufacturing Engineering
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in composite manufacturing (freshers with training may be considered)
- Familiarity with layup techniques, vacuum infusion, or RTM processes
- Working knowledge of autoclaves, ovens, and cleanroom best practices
- Basic CAD literacy and ability to read technical drawings
- Awareness of health and safety standards and PPE compliance in composite handling
- Prior experience with high-temperature or aerospace-grade composite systems is a plus
