Mechanical Technician – Design, CAD & Manufacturing (Jet & Cryogenic Engines)

Scope of Work

We are seeking skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Technicians to support the design, CAD modeling, and manufacturing operations for cutting-edge combat jet engines and cryogenic propulsion systems. You will assist engineers in preparing precise 3D models, interpreting technical drawings, setting up manufacturing jigs, and performing inspections of complex components.

Nature of Work

• Assist engineers in preparing and modifying CAD models and technical drawings
• Operate and maintain precision CNC machines, 3D printers, and metal forming tools
• Support layout of assembly jigs and fixtures for prototype testing
• Help in mechanical assembly, fitting, and functional checks of critical parts
• Read, interpret, and revise mechanical drawings and tolerances
• Support FAI (First Article Inspection) and prepare quality inspection documentation
• Ensure adherence to aerospace-grade manufacturing standards and tolerances

Job Requirements

• Diploma / ITI / B.Tech in Mechanical, Tool & Die, or Manufacturing disciplines
• 2+ years of experience in high-precision mechanical manufacturing (freshers with training in aerospace/mechatronics can also apply)
• Proficiency in reading technical CAD drawings and 3D modeling using SolidWorks or AutoCAD
• Hands-on experience with CNC machines, lathes, and coordinate measuring machines (CMMs)
• Basic understanding of GD&T, tolerancing, and fits
• Familiarity with composite part fabrication and metallic additive manufacturing is a plus
• Experience in engine testbed setup, instrumentation wiring, or ground support tooling (preferred)
• Ability to work with engineers collaboratively and follow precise instructions

• Candidates from skill development missions (MSDE, NSDC, etc.) or DRDO apprenticeships are welcome
