Project Risk Manager – Combat Jet & Cryogenic Engines
Location: Pune, India (On-site Preferred, Hybrid Negotiable)
Scope of Work
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Project Risk Manager to lead risk identification, assessment, mitigation, and reporting across multiple mission-critical engine development programs. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring timely delivery, cost control, and technical compliance for combat jet engine and cryogenic propulsion projects.
Nature of Work
- Conducting qualitative and quantitative risk assessments for engineering programs
- Developing project risk registers and mitigation strategies in collaboration with technical teams
- Monitoring risk exposure related to cost, schedule, performance, and regulatory factors
- Leading cross-functional risk reviews and reporting to program leadership
- Aligning risk frameworks with MIL-STD, ISO 31000, and AS9100 standards
- Engaging with suppliers and internal stakeholders for risk forecasting and contingency planning
- Supporting proposal evaluations and cost-risk tradeoff analysis during project bidding
Job Requirements
- B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Mechanical, Aerospace, Systems Engineering, or related fields
- 5+ years of experience in project risk management, preferably in aerospace/defense sectors
- Working knowledge of turbomachinery, propulsion systems, and aerospace development cycles
- Experience with tools like ARM, Primavera Risk Analysis, or Microsoft Project Risk Register
- Understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM) and program lifecycle methodologies
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate complex risk topics clearly
- Certification in project management or risk management (PMI-RMP, PMP, or similar) is a plus
Eligibility
- Indian nationals or OCI holders eligible to work in India
- Experience in managing risks in classified or strategic defense projects is highly desirable
- Willingness to undergo security clearance procedures as per government norms
