EMI Shielding Specialist – Combat Jet & Cryogenic Engines Division
Location: Pune, India (On-site with lab access)
Scope of Work
We are seeking a dedicated EMI Shielding Specialist to lead and implement electromagnetic interference protection strategies across critical electronic subsystems of advanced combat jet engines and cryogenic propulsion systems. This role involves working closely with avionics, control systems, and safety compliance teams to ensure robust shielding against external and internal EMI sources, ensuring airworthiness, mission reliability, and safety.
Nature of Work
- Design and analysis of EMI shielding enclosures, gaskets, coatings, and integrated protection layers
- Perform EMI/EMC testing in compliance with MIL-STD-461, RTCA DO-160, or equivalent standards
- Work with FADEC, control electronics, communication buses, and harness shielding
- Develop shielding validation methods and assist in qualification test plans
- Collaborate with materials, avionics, and engine design teams for integrated solutions
- Analyze root cause of EMI issues in lab and field environments
- Recommend shielding solutions that balance weight, cost, and thermal considerations
Job Requirements
- B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, Aerospace, or Material Science
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in EMI shielding for aerospace, defense, or automotive systems
- Thorough understanding of electromagnetic theory, Faraday cages, RF absorption, and grounding practices
- Experience in EMI/EMC testing and compliance standards (MIL-STD-461, DO-160, IEC 61000 series)
- Knowledge of EMI materials – conductive polymers, paints, foils, mesh, elastomers
- Familiarity with ESD protection, surge suppression, and PCB-level shielding
- Proficiency with EMI simulation tools (e.g., CST, HFSS, COMSOL Multiphysics preferred)
- Clear documentation and cross-functional communication skills
Eligibility
- Indian citizens with a background in defense, aerospace, or electronics safety
- Experience in working with high-frequency/high-voltage environments preferred
- Security clearance eligibility and willingness to work in restricted R&D environments
