NDT Technician – Combat Jet & Cryogenic Engines
Location: Pune, India (On-Site/Hybrid)
Scope of Work
As an NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) Technician, you will be responsible for performing advanced inspection techniques on high-stress components used in combat jet engines and cryogenic propulsion systems. You will play a key role in ensuring structural integrity and manufacturing quality by employing NDT methods in accordance with aerospace and defence standards.
Nature of Work
- Perform ultrasonic, radiographic, magnetic particle, dye penetrant, and eddy current testing
- Inspect turbine blades, discs, casings, fuel lines, and cryogenic engine components
- Interpret results and prepare detailed reports compliant with ASNT/NAS standards
- Support metallurgical investigations and root cause analysis (RCA)
- Collaborate with design, quality, and manufacturing teams to define acceptance criteria
- Maintain and calibrate NDT equipment in line with ISO and NADCAP protocols
- Contribute to digital traceability of inspection data within Digital Thread platforms
Job Requirements
- Diploma/B.E. in Mechanical, Metallurgy, or Aerospace Engineering
- ASNT Level II (or equivalent) certification in at least two NDT methods (UT, RT, PT, MT, ET)
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in aerospace, defence, or cryogenic systems
- Understanding of fatigue failure, microstructural defects, and weld inspection
- Familiarity with MIL, ASTM, and ISRO/DRDO testing standards
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, 3D models, and GD&T
- Experience with digital inspection reporting tools is a plus
